On Sunday I did my first 10k practice run. Before that my longest run had been the 8k training runs I had built myself up to. Finished in 1hr12minutes, which I was proud of.
I have been having a hard time finding the perfect schedule to balance my sleep, gym days and my run days... In the end it has ended up being sleep in days. Tough to admit, but I have to start pushing myself a little harder to stick with the fitness plan I had layed out for myself so that I can start seeing positive changes.

The Chocolate coma
Easter is done and I have been able to escape relatively unscathed from all the chocolate floating around at home. Although I was able to put up a bit of a fight against my chocolate addiction, I did end up being a little lax on the excercise side... Got back at it this morning though. Another 8k down. Gym day tomorrow.

Well I am feeling pretty good today. Got up... after hitting the snooze button a few times (but who's counting). Got through my first 8k run, with a time that I am happy with. My max run distance so far has been 6k so jumping up to 8k and maintaining a reasonable pace of 6:57 was cause for celebration!
After this mornings experience I'm a little less weary of the 10k coming up at the end of May.
